Palomar Observatory overnight camping trip. A night of camping under the stars on Palomar Mountain followed by a special tour of the Palomar Observatory, including the hugh 200-inch Hale Telescope. This trip is limited to 14 students.
Griffith Observatory day trip. Visit the historic and spectacular Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles. We’ll explore the museum and see a planetarium show. This trip is limited to 14 students.
Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) day trip. NASA’s and Cal-Tech’s JPL research facility in Pasadena is responsible for all of NASA’s unmanned robotic space exploration missions. We’ll take a private tour of the facility. We must have at least 18 students to do this trip and you will need to miss one day of school (Friday).
Star Party! We’ll host a late night star party at the observatory for the whole school to attend. Astronomy Club members will help point telescopes, lead discussions, and guide groups of students and teachers around the observatory.
